Maternity Bras and Fashion - Incompatible?

As recently as a couple of decades ago, the maternity bra was seen as a must have garment that would be hidden away and was definitely not a fasion item. However, the tide is turning, and more lingerie fashion houses are starting to develop products in this sector. Can a maternity or nursing bra really be considered a fashion item?
